Brian H. Barnett, President/CEO/Director OCN-Ocean Crewing Network Inc. was a former Marine Engineering Officer with thirty-six years in the marine industry founded OCN to network the professional seagoing mariner and the employer.

Over three decades in the marine field, related labour commerce and involvement in the marine communities gives Mr. Barnett a strong background and experience providing him with considerable expertise in managing and contributing to individual skills and talents of staff within the company. The office, based in Victoria, B.C., Canada, is well situated and founded in a long history of marine environment to reinforce the services OCN provides. The President has a thorough knowledge of Transport Canada Regulations, IMO, ISM, and SOLAS.

  • Ocean Crewing Network Inc. management and staff are experienced in placing experienced mariners to coastal and ocean going deep sea vessel operations, oil rigs, tugs, manning yachts, pilotage waivers and shore based employment.
  • OCN is committed to providing comprehensive service to both Certificated Mariners and Ship Owners.
  • We are fully familiar with and cognizant of mandated and necessary requirements of Ships' Officers.
  • OCN is Compliant with ISO 9000 standards in terms of due diligence / checking all Officers credentials.
  • We are aware of the legal responsibilities for adherence to Human Rights Codes and Employment Standards and are committed to ensuring through and up-to-date knowledge of relevant status and changes to regulations.
  • OCN's Staff have knowledge of other cultures, with the ability to hire qualified personnel outside of Canada.
  • We maintain high business ethics and integrity to provide consistent reliable service to client companies.
